Why do you charge a credit card processing fee and how much is it?

Credit card processing companies charge a fee every time you use your credit card that is absorbed by the company. Rather than build that into our tour costs, we give you the option to save by paying with check. The fee is 3.5%

Will a tour director from CAT be on my trip?

Of course! We believe one of the things that sets us apart from “the big guys” is that each of tours is custom created with input from the artist, and at least one member of our staff will accompany you. We will be on site to answer questions, let you know what’s coming next, troubleshoot, and bring the fun.

Do you use in-country guides?

Yes, we frequently use in-country guides who are experts on the region’s history, customs, attractions, and, in non-English speaking countries, interpreting.

If you book my air, will you use 3rd party booking companies?

A third party booking company is any company that sells discounted airfares from the airlines. Some are safe and recognized – ie: Priceline, Orbitz, Expedia. If we can get you the best price through one of these companies, we will use them. However, there are dozens of unknown third party booking companies currently in operation with substandard customer service. We will NEVER use these to book your air.

What Airlines do you book passengers on?

Unless you expressly tell us you want or do not want a specific airline, we use only national and international airlines that are known to us, or with a very strong recognition in international travel. Here is a list of the current airlines that qualify:

  • United
  • American Airlines
  • Delta
  • Aer Lingus
  • Lufthansa
  • British Airways
  • Alitalia

Will you get me the least expensive airfare?

Maybe. We look at several criteria when choosing air:

  • Do you want economy or upgraded airfare?
  • What flight has the shortest travel time?
  • Is the international layover time long enough or too long? Ideally we prefer 90 min to 2 hours.
  • Do the departure and arrival times work with your agenda? We try to avoid early morning European departures when possible.
